[Terpsiphone paradise ceylonensis] This bird lives in forests and in the backyards of houses located in the low country dry zone as well as in the hill country. Its body is chestnut coloured and its crested head is black. The male and female of this species can be told by the length of their lails (what is this word? Is it ‘tail’?). It builds an attractive ,‘cup’ shaped nest by sticking fibre onto twigs using spider webs. Its eggs are pinkish white with chestnut Specks and it lays about 2-3 eggs at a time. This attractive bird is also known as the ‘Sivuru Hora’ which means ‘thieve of the robe’ because of its colour
